Help me decorate the nursery! PIP

I really don't like the way the wall letters turned out :(  They are too big to do straight across and I don't like the staggered look.

I need to change it. Any suggestions?  Scratch the letters altogether? Lose the polka dots?  Any help is appreciated! Thanks

  • No help from me-- I think they are adorable:)
  • I think you could still stagger them just space them out a little more.

Or you could lose the polka dots and just do the letters (will they fit across then?).

  • I think they'd look better without the polka dots, in a straight line.  I am with you, I don't like the staggered look.
  • What about in an arc w/ some  sort of picture underneath it?  I like how the pink of the polka dots looks with the green.

  • I agree about the staggered look. I would either make the dots smaller and in a straight line, and get smaller letters or ditch the dots all together and use just the letters.

I don't think the dots are neccessarily cohesive with your bedding, so I'd go for a different idea.

What about finding patterned papers that match the bedding, frame them in simple frames and top with a letter in each frame?  Or paint a horizontal stripe on that wall, and center the letters in that?  Just some ideas.

  • I would lose the polka dots. Since it is a short name, you can hang them with some ribbon (one nail each) in a line. We just moved DD #1 letters to her new room and they look great straight across. Last time we staggered them. LOVE the green!
  • Ditto joseys. If you want the pink, maybe paint the letters themselves pink (personally I like them white). I would definitely put the letters in a straight line and likely lose the dots.

  • Ooh, I like josey's horizontal line idea!

  • Thanks ladies!

Great suggestions. I'm gonna need to think about it before I put any more holes in the wall :)

  • What about arching them up?

  • I would either lose the polka dots and do a strait line for the name or lose the letters and do them elsewhere maybe with polka dots at the ends.  I love the polka dots though
