What are some household cleaners and disinfectants that are safe for kids? I want something with the strength of clorox and lysol but something that is safe for my family and everyday use.

    I make my own. I suggest reading the books Green Clean and Organic Housekeeping . OH talks about the science of cleaning and how it works (which makes you feel that you really can clean organically, if you are doing the right things) and gives some recipes. GC gives lots of recipes and is more antecdotal in tone. Maybe your library has them. That is where I first read both before I bought my own copies.

    We have Method stuff, but often just use vinegar and baking soda. We still keep our cats out of the room when we do large areas (like the bathrooms) but certainly safer than a bleach based product.?
