I'm trying to find a class and am not really interested in the ones offered at NW where I'll be delivering - they seem more informational. Do people still do Lamaze classes? That seems to be more of what I'm interested - focusing on the labor process. Any recommendations for this type of thing? I live in Lincoln Square, so something local would be great.
Re: Do people still do Lamaze?
It seems they do, but it's not called Lamaze everywhere anymore. I took a labor preparation class at Hinsdale Adventist that covered all parts of labor and breathing. They did cover epidurals and other pain meds, but it was clear that it was Lamaze-biased; and my instructor told us she was lamaze certified.
Check this website out, it might help, too.

I took a two day weekend long Lamaze class at Evanston Hospital. It covered breathing techniques, along with what will happen during labor, different medications given, etc. It also gave a tour. Our instructor was awesome - it was definitely worth it.
