Random carseat question...

My BFF and I were discussing recently, we don't know when (how old or what weight) kids move into a belt positioning booster. Anyone know? TIA! Smile

Re: Random carseat question...

  • depends on the car seat you have... what weight does it go up to?

check online - the boosters will say what weight they start at.

  • I have an Eddie Bauer 3-in-1 convertible. It goes up to 100 lbs and is a belt positioning booster as well.

  • MD state law is 4 years and 40 lbs for a booster.

  • I think it also depends on your state law.  I believe in Michigan that kids must be in a carseat until 4 years old and 40 pounds.  Then they move up to a boster until 8 years old or 80 pounds?  Something like that.  But since our carseat goes up to 65 pounds, DD will stay in it past 4 years old, if she still comfortably fits.

  • 4 years AND 40 lbs at absolute bare minimum, but kids at that age/weight should still be in a 5 pt harness because it's still much safer. HTH!
  • 4 years and 40 lbs is the minimum
