I was curious about other DC's sleep schedules. It seems like a lot of moms I talk to say their 1 year olds are down to one nap a day. My DD (she'll be 1 in 2 weeks) still takes 2 really good naps and she sleep through the night.
She naps from 10-10:30 AM to 12-12:30. Then goes back down at 4 PM and sleeps until 5:30-6. Her bed time is a little later 8:45-9:30 PM. Then she wakes up about 8-8:30 AM.
I personally like the down time during the day but on the weekends it seems to interfere with some playgroups ang gtgs I guess you can't have your cake and eat it to?
What was/is your 1 year olds sleep/nap schedule? If they are only napping once a day, when did they drop their second nap?
TIA!
Re: 1 Year Old Sleep/Nap Schedule?
She takes 2 solid naps a day. Here's her sleep schedule:
6:30ish: wake up for the day
9:00ish: morning nap (anywhere from 30 minutes to 1.5 hours)
1:30ish: afternoon nap (usually 45 minutes - 2 hours)
7:00: bedtime
DD usually takes one really good nap per day in the late morning. I put her to bed super early and so she doesn't often get an afternoon nap unless her morning nap was abbreviated.
She wakes up between 5 and 6 am.
She goes down for a morning nap between 9 and 10 am. (usually about 2 hours, although sometimes she'll sleep longer than this)
She goes to bed at or before 6 pm.
The reason I put her down so early is because I have two children, I SAH and my husband works super long hours. He's never there to help in the early evenings. By the late afternoon I am DONE. So for the sake of my sanity I need one child in bed before the sun goes down.
we just finally started a good nap schedule. It's taken a year to get to where we are. I really don't want to mess with it... MDO wants to move him to 1 nap.. I told them NO WAY...
Wake up 6ish.. try to get him to go back down or at least lay with us until 7:00
Nap 10-11
Nap 3-4
Bed 7:30
Natalie just takes one nap a day on MDO day (Fridays). She sleeps there for only an hour or so. Friday evenings are ROUGH because she is so tired from playing and not sleeping enough. But I think the 5 hours of freedom during the day are worth it
At 1 Addie was still taking 2 naps, usually a morning one for 1-2 hours and a 3 hour one in the afternoon. She finally dropped the second one around 18 months (I think). She goes to bed at 8 (7 when she was 1) and gets up at 7-7:30.
3 hour nap??? Where do I sign up for that... I think Luca read the memo wrong.. It's usually 30 minutes
I seem to be in the minority here, but Charlotte has just recently started moving to one nap a day. ?She was taking two good naps a day up until the past month or so. ?She goes to MDO three days a week and takes okay naps - after I picked her up, I would usually put her down again at my mom's (where I work) for an hour or two and she would go right down. ?Then she started fighting that around Christmastime. ?I thought it was MDO related, but then on the days when she didn't go, she was still fighting her afternoon nap, which she never really did. ?
She continued this for about two weeks, so I finally just gave up and am having her just take one nap. ?Oh, while she was also trying to give up her afternoon nap, her morning naps were getting pretty long - between 2-3 hours. ?I figured it was about time! ?Sometimes I'll still put her down for an afternoon nap if she seems especially tired or didn't get a good morning nap, but more often than not now, she's a one nap girl. ?She's tired by the end of the night, but it's okay because she's ready to go to bed.
Here's her schedule:
6:30ish am - wake up for day
Nap - right now she starts her nap between 10:45-11 and usually sleeps until at least 12:45, sometimes until 2. ?Today her nap was almost 2.5 hours.?
Bedtime - about 7 pm.
Her previous schedule was go down for morning nap between 9:30-10 (which lasted about 1.5 hours), and then she went down for her afternoon nap between 2:30-3 and slept for another hour or hour and a half.?
