Yes Atonea is a family name...Inupiat is our ethinicity.  I personally don't like it very much.

Kianna is a different way of spelling Kiana, which is a villiage in Alaska since my family is Inupiat.  Not defending, just giving more info.

Galene is normally spelled Jalene, since the G would be a hard G with an A following it (like gauge, gape, garage).  Her parents didn't know that. They also prounouce it JUH - lene, not JAY-lene.

We are waiting to finalize my DD's adoption--March 16th!!  So excited...it has been a whirlwind of a year.

We love our DD's name...we pronounce Rai as 'rye'...it means trust in Japanese.  Thanks for the compliment!
