Pacifiers by any other name...

Totally random, but I'm listening to lectures and got to wondering what you ladies call a pacifier... Everybody seems to do it different.  My Irish MIL calls it a dummy, my mom calls it a nuk, etc.  My Dh while we were in the hospital with Alleena decided he wanted an original name for it, so we call it a Zoot. ( [sigh] lots of punk music when we were young..). What about everyone else?

dh calls it a bink, and I usually call it a paci- I worked at a daycare in Dallas, and they all called them "paci's", that's where I got that from.

I call it a paci or binky. Everyone here in Alberta calls them soothers.

MIL calls it a binky, my mom calls it a tutter, I call it a paci and DH calls it a ninny - we are soooo going to confuse her

We call it an "uh-oh", that's what DH called it when he was a baby.

We call it a pacifier or paci...boring I know.  But my sister calls it an "ish" because that's what my nephew named it as soon as he could talk.  I think he came up with that because of how it sounds when he sucked on it.

when I was little I called it a binky--I call his a pacifier or paci. I knew many kids who had blankets called binkies, so that got confusing.  Dh calls it a sucky thing--real original

I grew up calling them a pipe.  DH about died when he first heard me say that.  He thought I was making it up until he heard a relative also say it.  We call it a paci or pacifier.  He said he should have dared me to go to the nursery and ask a nurse for a pipe for our newborn
