Snarky and T-TTC

Not bad for an hour of work

I just realized at 9am when my meeting reminder dinged that I had my monthly status meeting with my manager where we go over all of the big projects I have been working on.  Luckily she was at another meeting, so I used the hour to throw together a packet with some of my ideas written up in a more formal, presentable way.  She looked at it and was excited.  She said it was just what she was thinking of after our last meeting.  LOL!  If she only knew that it took me a total of an hour and the rest of the time I have been nesting.

  • LOL. My boss also thinks it takes me a lot longer to do things than it really does. Shhh...

  • That is awesome. My job is like that too - people are always saying how "fast" I get things done, which makes me giggle because of the amount of time I spend nesting! (of course, if I didn't nest, I would be staring out the window doing nothing half the time ;P)

This makes me think of the time when I was a legal secretary for a sole practitioner.  I took the place of a woman who went out on maternity leave.  Apparently, I got her work done in about half the time it had been taking her to do it.

When the attorney saw me getting things done so fast he said, "wow, I guess I don't really need a full-time secretary, do I?  I may have to cut your hours back to part-time."

After he said that, things started to not get done so quickly and efficiently (and I became an expert at solitaire and freecell....).

Same thing happened to me when I was a temp in college.  They wanted me for a week, but I got everything they wanted done in 2 days so they said I didn't need to go back.  It sucked!
