2 months severance, which is helpful. I'm trying to look at it as a blessing in disguise. Maybe in that 2 months he'll be able to get the business going. Hopefully he'll either have some success with that or he'll find something new.
I'm not sure how to feel about it.

I am so sorry, but you should be so happy and jumping up and down. Both of you will be so glad that he is out of there. The grass is truly greener on the other side.
While the income was nice, I'm sure C will not have a problem finding something else. I bet his business will flourish and it will be a blessing in disguise.
Have a glass of wine tonight and try not to think about the money. Focus on the positives. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you.

I'm sorry. It sucks. I got 10 weeks severance pay and like you said it does help. Who carries the insurance for the family? I just heard that if you get COBRA ins that the govt will pay 65% of it.
I think my layoff was a blessing in disguise although the next 2 years are going to be tough it will be worth it in the end.
I'm soo sorry to hear that! I think it could be a blessing in disguise-- and 2 months severence is better than nothing.
DH has had numerous jobs since we've been married, and I've come to the resolution that somehow we always make it work. When one job ends, the next one is always better than the one before. Hopefully he finds something he likes even more. HTH!

Oh my....my heart sank when I read your title. I've been dreading this for you (and everyone) since all of the layoffs have really bumped up and a you were posting about being worried.
I know things will work out for the best but sometime's it's hard to see the light really really far down at the end of the tunnel. Let C know that the ladies on the nest are thinking about him and cheering him on
