Bed transition help

We just moved my DS from his crib into a bed on Monday.

He does really well with falling alseep (I am probably jinxing myself), but has started waking up and getting out of bed really early in the morning (Tuesday he was up from 2-4am, Wednesday up for the day at 4am, today up at 3am and then 5am for the day).  When he gets up he plays around in his room and does come out to see what we are doing.

Do you think he is just doing this because of his new found freedom and it will pass as the novelty wears off?  Any suggestions on what we can do?

I get up for work at 5:30am, as you can imagine, I am exhausted.

Re: Bed transition help

  • Hi rachel Im glad to hear that P is doing reallly well falling asleep.  Im sorry to hear he is getting up early.  Tyler did this a little bit when we transitioned him.  I found that I would go into his room and talk to him about how it is still night night time ( i would say, mommy was still in bed, daddy is still sleeping, sissy is still asleep and I would go say grammy and papa are at their house still in their beds) and if we wasnt tired he still needed to lay in his bed.  Sometimes I would leave a book in it for him to look at.  And then he would fall back to sleep.  I think most of it is his new found freedom.

I dont know if this is much help!  I hope you get more sleep soon.
