How am I supposed to get 6 servings of whole grains?

Anyone have any ideas on this?  I have been eating low-fat Eggo waffles that have whole grains for breakfast and I always choose wheat bread over white and whole-wheat pasta when we have pasta... but how on earth can I get 6 servings of whole grains every day???

DD conceived naturally in 2009.  TTC #2 since August 2010.  Praying for guidance as we decide what's next.

  • it's easier than you think.  A serving is pretyt small, so you're likely eating more than one serving of pasta, etc.
  • Loading the player...
  • Make sure you are taking your PNV and do your best. I asked my NP because my m/s was so bad not much was staying down, she said as long as I took my PNV and stayed hydrated the baby would be fine.

    If you can still eat all that good stuff go for whole grain crakers for snacks, I liked the whole grain wheat thins.

  • I am currently a fan of Cinnamon Life cereal for breakfast and Whole Grain Lean Pockets for lunch.

  • Even something like whole grain graham crackers counts. Yum, graham crackers with peanut butter....

  • Thanks for the tips.  Luckily (knock on wood), I have had no m/s yet.  I'll definitely try to look for some whole grain snacks and I do take my PNV daily!

  • and dont forget, a serving is actually quite small.  i probably eat 3 servings of brown rice, ww pasta or a bowl of cereal.  and a sandwich = 2 servings.  and if there is a bag of popcorn...well, that's my 6 servings right there Surprise

  • I snack on Kashi whole grain crackers.  Kashi also has really good frozen waffles that are a good source of whole grains, fiber, and protein.
