Ureaplasma???

What do any of you know about Ureaplasma???

My dr office called me today and said i tested positive for ureaplasma, which they believe has been the route of my tttc and my 3mc's... 

I was soo happy to finally have some sort of answer! But now I have even more questions.... They said that it was a bacteria, and that I didn't have any STD's. I am taking 3wks of erithromyecin (sp?), and they said that my dh did not need to take it at all. 

But it seems like everything I am seeing says it is some sort of std strain?? They said it def wasn't though...but there seems to be many different strains of it too....

just wondering, have any of you ever experienced this or heard of it??

I don't know if this will be helpful, because it's just what I think, but...I wonder if it could be like a urinary Infection, which is also caused by bacteria.  A UTI can result from anything--even using the wrong kind of toilet paper.  If it's a bacteria, I would assume it could result from anything.

i tested positive for it too...and apparently, it's very common.  i had to take a z-pac as did dh, and we were not to have sex until the packs were finished...otherwise, we would have kept passing the bacteria back and forth.  i would call and ask again if dh should be on it too.

i don't know much about this but if a course of antibiotics is the answer to your IF, then that sounds like great news to me

See that is what confused me, they said that dh didn't have to take anything and that we were fine to ttc this cycle. They said that it was something that was only in me, and dh couldn't have it. Weird.....

i had to keep going in for repeat cultures, as i kept testing positive.  it wasn't until they put DH on an antibiotic and told us to stop having sex, that i finally tested negative.  talk to the dr.

me, me, me!!! I tested positive for it they put me on antibiotic and retested.  I kept testing positive.  Finally DH and I where both put on levofloxin for 2 weeks.  My last test was negative.  But the whole process was very frusterating.  My Re said that it is not a std but it can spread between partners.

Oh, once again, thank you so much ladies!! I am definitely going to call the dr tomorrow to see if I can't make him call in a rx for dh too!

I certainly hope this is our answer!!!!! I can't believe that after nearly 3yrs ttc it may all come down to this! I wish I had known about this years ago!
