We both loved her name, but it's traditionally a boy's name. ?So, DH refused to name her unless we "girlified" it. ?I caved because I love the name so much and I thought I was ok with it. ?
Now I cringe almost every time I have to write it out or someone can't pronounce it. ?Ugh. ?That's my flame-worthy confession for the day. ?I'm just complaining because changing it is out of the question and DH would be really upset if I complained to him.

I kinda know how you feel. I let DH decide how to spell Gavyn's name. I don't hate it but I did like it better with an 'i'. I figured it was his first child/boy, he should have say in it, and to be honest, it's not totally out there and obnoxious so I let it go.
I'm sorry you don't like the way you all decided to spell her name but maybe she'll like it when she's old enough to understand.
I know you said that DH would not be thrilled if you suggested changing it, but would you be willing to broach the subject & see what he thinks?
I'm a huge traditional name/spelling fan, so it's the kind of thing that would make me nuts. But, it's not awful.
