1st Trimester

Constant hunger pain mixed w/nausea..when does it go away?

I have nausea all day and I throw up mornings and sometimes afternoons.  My question for you ladies is when does the painful hunger pains subside? It is mixed with the nausea and is almost every 2-3 hours.....regardless of when and what I eat.

Please tell me this ends......and the ODORS too, its killing me.

  • I still have all of that. :( My throwing up has subsided, but I'm still nauseous and hungry all the time, and have an extreme intolerance for odors.

  • Well it's different for everyone.  Sometimes it temporarily goes away but then resurfaces a few days later.  But it seems that m/s decreases for many in the second tri
  • I hear ya, sometimes I don't know if I'm hungry or nauseaous though, I seem to confuse them.  But I'll know when I eat. :)
  • Same here, I haven't thrown up yet :::knock on wood:::: but I'm always nauseated and hungry.  It's awful when you're hungry and nothing sounds good, blah

  • that's what mine feels like... extreme hunger pains that turn into nauseousness. ?Mine has mostly ended except a brief spell in the morning. ?But saltines did wonders, and my sister in law said stella doro cookies did her good.?

  • I'm having the same problem! Thanks for posting this.

  • First of all, Congrats on getting pregnant. My husband and I tried along time too and then when it came I thought I was gonna die, I 've been so sick. My nausea (24 hours of raging nausea) started at 4 weeks and this week has just gone to a dull nausea (although still present). I only had 1 week of puking (however that was the most violent puking I had ever experienced, they had to put me on medication.)

?The food adversions have been a whole other mess I've had too, but I found 2-3 things each week I could eat. Sometimes what I could eat would change mid-bite. But try to find a constant food your baby likes. Mine is popcorn, greasy, butter popcorn, no matter how I feel it makes me feel better (at least for a little better). Once you find that ultimately satifying food, the hunger "hurt" will subside.

?The doctor says the worse you feel the healthier the baby is, so we joke with our little "Sweet Pea", and say calm down, give mommy a little rest time...

The bottom line, i know he or she is ok, when I feel like crap. Hope that makes you feel a little better. ?

  • I had that too.  I told my OBGYN on my first visit (8 weeks) about it, and also lost some weight...so I was put on Zofran.  It works wonders, doesn't harm the baby, and definitly takes away the vomiting.  I still have little appetite and smells bother me...but to me the vomiting was the worst.  I would talk to your OB, especially if you are early in your 1st trimester.
