I have only known male Ashtons. Plus it makes me think of Ashton Kutcher, so I consider it primarily a boys name.

I only know it as the actor's name too - if it weren't for him, I'd probably like the name. But it makes me cringe now because of the association.

I've only ever heard of two. Ashton Kutcher and the daughter of a college classmate. I associate it more with boys simply because of the celebrity attached to it, since I've heard it more in relation to him than anyone else.

I know two male Ashtons... and no females. ?I guess it could go either way, though, especially with the current trend toward "boy" names for girls.

My DS's name is Ashton. I have only heard of 1 female Ashton and that wasn't until after DS was born. I think Male when I hear it.

I've known several little girls named Ashton. The only time I've heard it used for a boy is Ashton Kutcher. I think it can be used either way.

Its a family name for me, 1st born male in my family always has Ashton as 1st or middle name. My Dad is Ashton, and he is a male. Never heard it used for a girl.

I have heard it used for both the little girl I know with the name spells it Ashtyn. ?I actually loved the name for a girl but DH said no because he personally thought it screamed male.?

I went to school with a girl named Ashton before Ashton Kutcher was on the scene so I think it can be used for either.

Ashton is my middle name, so it only makes sense for me to think "girl," but I realize it can really go either way. I like it : )

I grew up with a boy named Ashton before Ashton Kutcher was around. But my sister named my beautiful niece Ashton Grace after she heard another mom call after her daughter, Ashton, in a store. Obviously, I think it can go either way, but I have to say I can't imagine my niece as any other name but Ashton Grace!
