Help! Reuse needle or open new Gonal-f

Argh! This is probably asked alot but please help.

Tonight I am on night 7 of stims. The gonal-f box has only 6 needles but there is enough in the bottle for another dose. After three nights 75iu they told me to come in, then after 2 more 75 doses the E2=230 on Monday with about three measurable follies. So they told me to stim for two more nights and I have an u/s b/w tomorrow morning. They could trigger me tomorrow, but who knows.

SO, do I blow 250 bucks by opening the box just to use one needle and potentially none of the gonal-f OR do I reuse one of the syringes? Gross I know but it's 250 bucks!

I'd run some rubbing alcohol through one of the syringes, let it dry, and re-use it.... but I'm cheap!

oooh! me likey this idea......anyone else have some horror story about re-using needles?

Do you have a pharmacy near you?  Are you just needing the needle for your pen?  I have only used follistim.

Oh, duh, I didn't even think about it. Can you just run to wallgreens and buy a new needle?

I don't have the pen. It is the multi-dose box with 6 syringes(I have no idea how to spell that BTW)

It is 10pm here. There is one about 15 min away, but I am feeling lazy.....I was hoping to hear from another lazy/cheap azz like myself who did this and did not "catch" something.....

i can't say from personal experience, but you are probably fine if you use alcohol first like pp mentioned

I am sure you can sterilze the needle, but what about the syringe?  Since it has been used, do you need to worry about contamination mixing into the solution and then injecting that into your body?  If it were just the pen needle, I would be less concerned. 

I am sure you would be fine.  I would not open another box, but I am cheap and OOP.

Damn! I am such a rebel. I did it. I will let you guys know if I "catch" anything.

PSA though: When you reuse the needle it is not as sharp as it was before. I needed to poke twice to get it to go in. ouchie wah wah!

sorry - i meant to include that in my reply but forgot - you have to use more force the 2nd time, since it is dull, to avoid the problem you had.  i am sure you will be just fine!
