until a year or two ago, i always thought people used only the traditional pronunciation of this name, like ava. do you hear it pronounced that way anymore, or is it all E-va now?

Yeah, I think most people pronounce that E-va now...I see the name Ava a lot, too.

I think anymore if people want it pronounced Ava they go with that spelling instead of Eva

I would pronounce Eva with a long 'e' sound - particularly since Ava is so popular right now...

I grew up with a girl name Eva (EE-va), so that's how I have always pronounced it.

I have only heard of it pronounced Ava when it is spelled with an A.

I would say Eva as AY-va unless I was told it was EE-va.

EE-vah is the English way to pronounce it. AY-vah is Dutch.

I used to think of Ava, but since desperate houseweives came around i alwasy think of Eva haha
