Avett?
It's a family name, and I like it for a little boy, but a friend of mine thinks it will be mis-pronounced! TIA!

Re: How would you pronounce the name...
I think it will be mispronounced as well, since I looked at it for awhile trying to guess how to say it.
I tried all of these, and figured uh-VETT would be my best guess.
uh-VETT. (rhymes with corvette)
AY-vett. (like the girls name yvette?)
AH-vett. (rhymes with Abbott)
This is closest. We're from South Carolina (Caroliiiiiiina haha) so around here it's pronounced Ave-it (Aye-vitt?) with the emphasis on the "A".
Yeah, I was nervous about it being pronouced "girly" hehe
Thanks for y'alls opinion!

Edit because that didn't come out the way it sounded in my head...
I thought Uh-Vet
This
I would say 'Aa-vit' (sounding like Abbot).
Interestingly, I have a (male) cousin who's named 'Davitt' - also a family name - I think it's a great way to preserve tradition.
a (like in bad) - vet
hehe, thats how i did it as well
