WD-40? EF? alternative?

so... anyone know about WD40? we love that stuff, but i'm sure its not good for the environment or DD or me... or the dog...

anyone have the dirt on it? and is there a reasonable EF alternative? i mean... i love that stuff, we have squeaks and sticky drawers ALL THE TIME and i go thru a large can about once a year... and as i was spraying it on the basement door last night i realized it might not be so safe for DD to be playing with the door after i just sprayed it (her new facination is closing and opening doors... )

What about putting some EVOO in a mister and trying that?

I would think EVOO might get kinda sticky after a while. I don't have any alternatives to suggest though, sorry.

We use evoo.

For squeaky door hinges and things, olive oil.

For wooden drawers that get stuck, rub the wooden tracks with stearin candles. The wax helps them move. (Soap works too, but attracts water which isn't good in the long term for the drawers.)
