I just had a great conversation with a woman at the Carter's customer service number. Allison has a tunic that she's worn maybe a handful of times. This weekend it totally unraveled at the bottom in the wash. I called Carter's to see if they had any kind of quality guarantee. They're going to send me a postage-paid envelope. She said once they receive the tunic and matching pants, they'll either exchange it for the next size up or give me a refund if they no longer have it in stock. I was pleasantly surprised!
BTW, I first took the outfit to the Carter's store in West Chester. There's one woman there who is never helpful:
Me: My daughter has only worn this a couple times and it feel apart. Is there any kind of a policy that I could exchange it?
Carter's woman: I don't know. I'd just cut off the strings and have her wear it.
Me: But it's unraveled all across the bottom.
Carter's woman: Oh. Well, that would just take a few stitches to tack it back down.
Me: I don't sew.
Carter's woman: It would only be a few stitches. It'd be really easy.
Me: Yeah, but it'd be even easier if I could return it. Is there a customer service phone number?
Carter's woman (in a tone that she clearly thought I was completely lazy): I guess you could call this number. I don't know if they'll do anything, though.
So, anyway, props to Carter's for having such great customer service when you call them!
Re: Carter's customer service
I agree, their customer service is great!
I only wish Old Navy was the same. ALL of my clothes from old navy have freaking holes in them or the hem is coming undone... grr!
I had a shirt that got a hole in it after 2 wears from Old Navy. They exchanged it for a new one. This was a few years ago, but I can't believe they won't stand by their product.

That a bummer her outfit fell apart, but its awesome that their customer service is so great. I swear Lori, I think you have called every single customer service number for all of Allison's gear, clothes, etc. LOL. Good for you for calling.
I am finding more and more employees of stores that just don't want to do their job. What's up with that? If you don't want to be helpful and do your job, don't work there. Its that simple.
