When did you learn your LO's hunger cues?

I've figured out Christopher's "I'm hungry" cry - but I know that by the time he's actually crying for it, he's REALLY hungry.  At some point, I should be able to figure out that he's hungry just by his body language, etc - right? When was that point for you (if it's happened :))?

  • he is probably rooting before the all out cry: make a baby bird mouth, sticking out tongue, sucking on fists etc..

but they eat so much then, he might just be going from 0-60 without many cues.

  • It took me a week or two. Usually its when he starts moving his tongue, chewing on his hands, or if I put him close to my body - he turns his head to nurse.
  • DS is totally silent at first, just swings his mouth all the way open. Then if it goes un-noticed he freaks and screams like a banshee.

  • DS sticks his pointer fingers out and puts his hands to his face. He looks like he is actually pointing at his mouth.  I'm glad it's such an obvious one.
