I'M GRAPE JELLY- ALWAYS AROUND & ALWAYS THE SAME
If I leave here tomorrow, would you still remember me. For I must be traveling on now. Because there are too many places I've got to see. -Allen Collins & Ronnie VanZant

My favorite verse!
You gotta be bad, you gotta be bold, you gotta be wiser You gotta be hard, you gotta be tough, you gotta be stronger You gotta be cool, you gotta be calm, you gotta stay together
There are several Alanis Songs Dido and Jewel have a few too, although a bit sappy. Oh, and Fiona Apple - she is awesome!
But I also suggest Rollins Band - like Bubbly, I find angry music empowering. I have a Rollins Band album from the mid-90s that ROCKS and is great empowering angry music. There was a song on there called "Liar" - freaking fantastic!
Oh, and I also suggest Ace of Base from the early 90s that sang "I Saw The Sign" - their album got me through my first big breakup.
Re: NPR: Post your empowering breakup songs!
I Will Survive (cheesy, yes, but a break up staple)

Candlebox "Far Behind" and "Cover Me"
Linkin Park "One Step Closer"
I find angry music therapeutic.

Great GREAT empowerment song!
Oh, and if she likes NIN at all, Trent wrote all of the Pretty Hate Machine cd about his ex girlfriend...
"That's what I get" would be good off there.
Good one.
