I wonder if anyone here has purchased nursery furniture from PBK? It is more than we budgeted, but I'm concerned that some of the cheaper cribs are going to fall apart after use. We plan to use this crib for at least 2, if not 3 babies. I don't mind spending more on the crib but even their nightstands are ridiculously expensive, I think. I'm just looking for a balance between quality and affordability. Any ideas?
Re: Pottery Barn Kids furniture
We are getting our furniture from Simmons Kids, some of the stores online were pricey but there is a place about an hour away from us that sells the crib we want cheaper than we could find it anywhere else. The one we chose is solid mahogony, really nice quality, dovetailed corners on the drawers, really great drawer glides, and not as expensive as PBK or RH.
Here's what we picked: https://www.simmonskids.com/babiesToddlers/babyFurniture/raleighCollection.cfm

Baby BOY!
Thank you! It looks like they have some very nice sets. I'll have to take a serious look at their site.
I have had all great experiences with their furniture! I only buy from the outlet though, so I get items that are missing hardware or if they have a scratch at the bottom on the back or something cosmetic that is hidden. They are all well made and made from very strong wood. I don't have personal experience with any of their cribs, but I wouldn't hesitate to buy one, except for the price. I may get one if it's on sale. GL:)
Also, it might be worth the trip to an outlet (if one is within driving distance from where you are) for the end table or dresser. If there is one close, you can call and have them check for a specific item and they'll usually hold it for a day for you. If there's something you really like, just call every week or so and check. I haven't seen any cribs at the outlet. GL!
Yeah, I was pumped when I read your thought about going to an outlet, and I looked them up and they're all too far away. It was a great idea though!
If you're concerned about crib quality, get the book Baby Bargains. It rates cribs according to quality. DH and I have been looking at it all evening. Very helpful! (They have some quality concerns with PBK, but not as many as they have with some other brands.)
I'm thinking I'm going to go with Babi Italia. It's available at BRU, but made by a higher end brand. It seems like a good combination of quality and price.
