I have a book on making your own food that says you can give it at 6 months.. but wholesomebabyfood.com says 8-10 months. When did you give it to your DC?
Thanks ladies... I gave it to her for the first time today. I noticed during her bath that she has broken out in a rash. I'm assuming it's from the mango, so I thought maybe I would wait until she's in the 8-10 month range and try again. I was just worried I introduced it way too early and her system wasn't ready for citrus fruits.
We let DD try it at about 12 months and she had no adverse affects. However, I discovered that I"m allergic to Mango when I was pg with DS and the Dr explained that it's the type of allergen that people typically need to be exposed to several times before they have a reaction. It took more than just a few times for me, since I'm almost 30 and have been eating mangos my whole life. Knowing this, we decided not to give mango to DS and arent giving any more to DD.?
I did mango pretty early in our solid food career. 6 months and a bit. I use it in his mesh feeder thing. But I bought a bag of frozen peach and mango mixed and I am going to puree some of that up for him. no reactions here at all. ( I have only given frozen though, not fresh if that matters)

We introduced it at 7 months. I bought fresh, organic ones and she loved it. As far as I know, it's not considered a citrus fruit. (???) You're not supposed to introduce citrus until after 1 year.
Re: When did you introduce mango?
I also make my own
What really sucks is that DD was LOVING the mango puree... hopefully when I try as she gets older she won't break out
