since he first woke up this morning, he has been calling me "mom" all day. it's so weird to hear his little toddler voice screaming "mom. mooooooom." across the house. i have to say, i don't like it at all!
Orion has always just called me "mom". He skipped right over the whole "mama" thing. He calls DH "Daddy" though.
i guess it's all what you're used to. i'm so used to "mama" and the change just sounds weird--- and like he's trying to be too grown up, even tho i know he doesn't know the difference
A have a very close friend who has a son that calls her "Bob"... He is the youngest of 3 and for some reason when he imitates the other kids it comes out Bob... It's hysterical....
Naw, that's not a 12yo. 12 year old boys roll their eyes, ignore you and sigh a lot. Heck, I'm grateful that my SS is past the sighing and just into ignoring/giving us the silent treatment.
Mine sometimes refers to me as Kelly, which in my opinion is worse than plain mom. I'm usually referred to as Mommy, but often just MOM as well. I think it's adorable!

I hear ya. I am now Mommy-O. Sometimes Mom or mommy, but the last week or so I have been Mommy-O and DH is Daddy-O and the dogs are Neenley-O. Where this "O" is coming from I don't know, but it sounds pretty darned funny.
