Parents/ILs ignoring baby-- would you be pissed?

Both my parents and my ILs sent Harry Valentine gifts (Spiderman crap from the ILs and an FTD balloon and bear bouquet from my parents) and sent nothing for Jack. ?Both of them said, "Oh well Jack is too little to understand." ?Okay, this is maybe true, but Harry is not too little to understand and is, in fact, kind of a greedy little guy sometimes. ?It's not cool that he should think he is the only one who gets presents, you now??

?

I'm pretty annoyed about this, but it's probably not a big deal, right??

  • I would be mad.  It really bothers me when people do that with my girls

  • I would be a little irked too, but I think you might want to gently point out that fact to them (that DS1 is old enough to understand and it's important for him to learn sharing, etc.). They're probably just not thinking about it from that angle and would understand if you explained it.

  • I think if you send for one you send for both.

I would be a little put out.

  • I would be annoyed!  Very much so!  He's still a part of the family and they could have gotten him something small!

  • I think my feelings would be a little hurt if that happened.

  • I would be totally annoyed.  My MIL is famous for buying my older son (her favorite) gifts and nothing for my youngest.  The last holiday she did that for I threw a fit and told DH he needed to tell his mother that she treats them equally or not at all.  I don't care if she buys them gifts, really i'd rather she didnt' b/c I don't need any more crap, however if she buys for one she has to buy for both.

And I agree about your older son knowing.  I think you should explain that to them, and have your Dh explain it to your inlaws.
