Luck with Craigslist re: selling?

Has anyone had luck selling furniture on CL?  I want to sell a five year old sofa/loveseat combo that we only used for 1 yr.  Just wondering if I should spend the time or just find a way to keep the furniture and use it.  Thanks!

Re: Luck with Craigslist re: selling?

  • Yep, we sold several items last year.

Our entertainment center we sold to the first person that called, at the full price we were asking. Woo hoo!

The bedroom furniture we had to come down a little bit, but once we got to a good price, we sold it in a couple of days.

I'd recommend putting it on at the price you want, but be prepared to lower the price if you don't get many calls the 1st week. Once you get to the right price, things seem to go pretty quickly.

  • I sell on Craigslist all the time. I've sold a car, furniture, baby stuff, purses, shoes, toys...you would not believe what some people will buy that you don't want anymore!

I say cash only and list it for a reasonable price that you are willing to bargain with. Yesterday I listed my Vera Bradley bag for $35, someone offered $25, I said I'd take $30, and she's picking it up today.

  • We've sold furniture and haven't had any problems.
