feeding

i was just wondering if anyone was planning to both breast feed and formula feed.  i am very large chested and planning on going back to work about 6 wks after baby and don't want to be extremely uncomfortable. any suggestions

Re: feeding

  • I just heard that you shouldn't introduce a bottle until at least 4 weeks or the baby can have a very hard time. ?To each it own though. ?Do what you feel is best for you. ?This is probably a good questions for 0 to 6

  • I know someone who has done it because she was having such a hard time and it went "okay" but her baby kept having all kinds of stomach issues. Every Baby is different. Trial by error I guess. Her advice to me was to do the best I can BFing and if it gets too difficult to try a bottle feeding every once in a while. I'm going to try my best to BF for at least 6 months!
  • thanks good call on 0-6

  • As long as they are getting some breast milk... I think that's what's most important!
  • You CAN introduce the bottle right from the start if you choose.  Nipple confusion doesn't always happen.  I pumped as soon as my milk came in and fed DS bottles as well as nursed him and all was well.  Formula is fine too...just see how it goes.
