Internal U/S..???

I keep seeing posts with all this internal ultrasound talk. I never had one.  Anyone else not have one?  Can't say I mind though, based on the post where a condom was used during hers.

I've never had an internal.  They did external even for my 7w2d check to make sure my spotting wasn't a miscarriage!

I haven't had one during this pregnancy, but I had one in the past to look for cysts.  They're really not that bad.

I had an internal at 8 weeks because the OB found a large cyst on one of my ovaries and wanted to get measurements of it.

I had one at my 7W u/s and it wasn;t that bad.  They should be using a condom for every internal.. this is to avoid spreading STD's and keep the equipment clean.

I have it done a couple times.  The one time I was in the hospital for a tubal pregnancy and it was excruciating pain, but I was already in a lot of pain!  Then the 2nd time it was looking for cysts and it wasn't so bad.

Oh yeah? I've had an internal & a trans-labia ultrasound. Fun times!

I've never had one either. All my u/s have been external.

I have only had internal ultrasounds.  My OB won't do external u/s until after 13 weeks.  My next appointment will be the first without the internal.

I had one at my 8wk appt with both pregnancies and one at 32wks with DS because they wanted to take a better look at my cervix (ended up on bedrest ).

It's really not as bad as it sounds!  The condom is just like when the doctor wears a rubber glove... it's for sanitary reasons. LOL

I had one when I was 10 weeks or so... Because the really couldnt see the fetus that well from the external u/s.  It was not bad and yes they put a condom on it...lol  I would have to say i do perfer the external u/s...
