Flying with medication.. help

Ok my mom is going to Austria for a week.  She's chaperoning a HS ski trip.  Anyway, she needs to bring medication with her.  Its pill form and its a prescription.  How should she travel with it?  In original container?  In plastic bag?  In carry on or check it?

Thanks!

  • She should keep it in the prescription bottle it came in, with the label on it.  As long as it's labeled, she should not have any issue.  I also would recommend she keep it in her carry-on just in case something happens and her checked bags get lost.

  • She should definately carry all medications on the plane with her in their prescription bottles. Luggage gets lost and she wouldn't want to be without.  Even if the medication were liquid she could carry it on - she'd jsut have to declare it at the airport checkpoint security.
