3rd Trimester

Kids with me to Dr.

All my babysitters have stuff they have to do tomorrow when I have to go to the Dr. so I have to bring my 5 & 3 year old with me. This wouln't be a problem if they weren't checking me. I'm going to have them where they can't see anything and going to have to come up with something to distract them so they don't notic what is going on.

Re: Kids with me to Dr.

  • Mr Dr. doesn't allow kids in the rooms.  I never really thought about why until your post.....

  • My daughter is 2-1/2 and she doesn't understand what's going on. Every time my OB goes to touch me though she says "No touching! That's my mommy! Back off!" We always break out laughing. Now my OB asks for permission first, and then DD is all sweet and what not.
  • Thats cute. My son is 3 and most likely wont get whats going on but my little girl is 5 and will probley get it. They both think that the baby comes out your belly botton so I dont know how this going to go or what she is going to say.
  • I would definitely play it by ear.

The receptionists and nurses in my office are super nice and are in love with DD. The one time she didn't want to sit still, they let her go behind the desk and play with the phone and just kept an eye on her during my exam.

Could you possibly do this? I mean if you are close enough to the girls that work there?!?! Just a thought...

  • My DD is 2 and she was there for my internal today. I think that's an easier age to distract than at 5 though! You could always just pass on the internal for this week. Some practitioners don't do them regularly anyway. Just a thought!
