Casserole recipe please

A friend is (over)due any day now and I don't have any tried and true recipes.  Thanks!

Re: Casserole recipe please

  • Here's one we like - I have passed it on to several Sacties who like it, too.  It is SO easy...

    CHICKETTI

1 ? cups cooked chicken (I used canned chicken from Sam's Club - one 13 oz can)

1 cup chicken broth (I just use the liquid from the can of chicken)

1 can cream of mushroom soup or you can substitute with cream of chicken

1 and ? cup sharp cheddar cheese (I'm sure I actually use more than this)

1/4 cup chopped green onion (I skip this because I don't like them!)

    Salt and pepper

    1 1/4 c. raw spaghetti

Mix chicken, broth, soup, green onion, salt and pepper and 1 cup of the cheese together.

Cook the spaghetti, strain and add to the mixture.

Place in baking dish and sprinkle the remaining ? cup cheese (or moreJ) on top and bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.

  • Hi!  This isn't a casserole, but Cheesy Garlic Chicken is my go to recipe whenever I'm making a meal for families with new babies.

    https://www.goodeatsblog.com/2007/09/garlic-cheddar-chicken.html

I make the chicken according to the recipe and put it in one those aluminum disposable pans along with the cooking instructions (bake at 350F for 30 minutes).  I throw in a bag of salad, loaf of bread, and some sort of dessert (brownies or cupcakes).

I've never made it before so I don't have a recipe to recommend, but King Ranch Chicken is a yummy casserole.

  • I got this recipe from a co-worker and she swears by it... I haven't tried it yet because of my gestational diabetes, but I really want to1

    Chicken and Biscuits

    1/2 large onion
    1 1/2 tsp butter
    4 cups chopped cooked chicken
1 (10 oz 3/4 oz) can cream of chicken
    1 cup sour cream
    1/2 cup milk
    1 cup shredded mild cheddar
6 frozen thawed jumbo biscuits (or enough to cover the pan)

-preheat oven , grease an 11x7 inch baking dish

chop onion, heat butter in skillet melted (medium high), stir in onion, and sautee till tender

-combine onion, chicken soup, sour cream, milk, Mix & spoon into baking dish. Bake for 15 minutes, then remove.

-Sprinkle top with 3/4 cup cheddar. Arrange biscuits on top and sprinkle with more cheddar

-Bake till biscuits are brown and bubbly (about 20 more minutes). If biscuits aren?t done (Which they probably won?t be if you use the jumbo ones-check the bottom), flip biscuits over, sprinkle with more cheddar & bake for 4 minutes longer.
