Holy attitude, Ava!

Anyone else's almost 3 year old have the attitude of a teenager? It has gotten horrid over the past few days and I hate the way she talks to me lately! she just asked for a pack of sweedish fish and I told her no because she already had her candy treat today and she picked smarties. she started screaming "Yes!" every time I said no. I eventually just had to walk away because she would keep going at it with me.

Re: Holy attitude, Ava!

  • Yep, my DS has quite the attitude- he flipped his sh!t this morning because he didn't get a pack of Dora gummies. I told him that he does not get a treat if he does not do a good job brushing his teeth (another fight we had this morning) or eat a good breakfast (yet another fight.) It was a rough morning. I am trying to teach him consequences for his actions -but he is so intense lately about what he wants.
  • And thus begins life with a 3 year old.....

Two year olds are filled with tantrums. Three year olds are full of attitude. I can deal with tantrums. The attitude tests my patience very regularly.

  • Dai, currently I am dealing with both. Apparently 13 months is not to young for tantrums because Miss Ella has thrown a few the last couple of days. full on throwing her body on the ground and doing snake dance. I can deal with that - they are quick (and kind of funny!) Ava's tude is killing me!
  • Madelyn sometimes runs to her room and yells "I don't like you" while slamming doors.  We went through about 6 months of that, and it seems to have tapered off.

  • Sounds familiar!  Eric is full of attitude and Kyle is full of tantrums!  Eric can be heard regularly stating, "I make the rule and everybody has to listen to me!"  Fun :)

  • Sounds just like DD#1.  Her favorite new one is "You don't tell me what to do" and "No, you hate it" (no idea what that means exactly but that's her response to me telling her to stop or go in time out).  The attitude and the whining might drive me up the wall!
