s/o: did anyone collect weird things as a child?

Thinking back to my childhood has reminded me that when I was in grade school all of the girls would collect eraser shavings.  We would have little containers full of them.  Why did we do this?  What weird thing will my DD's collect that I will shake my head at?

I don't know if it's weird, but I collected stickers.  LOTS of them.  My faves were Garbage Pail Kids!

lol...I have no idea why this is so funny to me.  Not that I am one to judge after I ate gravel and potting soil as a child.

Definitely stickers, but your post reminded me of being in grade school and the pencil boxes we used to have.  I just had a flashback to the Lisa Frank pencil boxes and all the big, end erasers I used to have.  I had to have cool erasers on my pencils.  I chewed on them a lot, totally remember that.  And my trapper keepers and folders all had to be LF too. 

Holy crap, old memories are strange!

I collected rocks. I had a shoebox that was full of rocks and I would name them and play pretend with them. You would think that my mom never bought me toys!

My brother collected pencils.  He had some really cool ones.  He would never use them though.  I'm sure he probably still has them somewhere.
