really stupid cooking question

I'm making a cheesy pasta bake.

It's at 400 for 20 minutes in a casserole dish....do I put it in the oven with or without the lid on?

I say without so that it browns nicely.  I could be wrong though.

I usually put casseroles in the oven without the lids on. If I notice it getting too dry orburning then I will throw the lid on for the last few minutes.

I think that I would leave it on until the last 5 mins so the cheese browns.
