So I had my 8 wk appt today and it all went well! DH was a bit weirded out that I have a male OB (who I love!), but I think he was more comfortable by the end. We even got to hear the heartbeat, which was fantastic! Now I feel like I can relax a bit and enjoy being pregnant. Now if only the m/s would go away...

Congratulations, pregnancy is a very different/exciting time in your life. I also have a male ob & I love him, at first my husband was weirded but after meeting & talking to him during our pregnancy with dd he loves him & couldn't ask for a better Dr.

How exciting! That's great that you got to hear the heartbeat this early, my OB doesn't even try until around 12 weeks. I'm glad everything looks good! Reading these pregnancy posts makes me miss being pregnant, it's such a fun and exciting time :-)

I'm glad it went so well! DH was weirded out that I had a male OB, too, until he met him. I think his words were something like, "If another guy is going to look at you, I want it to be that guy. He's cool." Okay, it seemed a lot more funny at the time. Oh well.

Congrats! It sounds like you guys had a great appointment. I'm jealous that you got to hear the heartbeat so early. We were so anxious to hear that little ticker beating, but had to wait until around 12 weeks. Glad to hear everything looks good. I hope you feel more like a human soon.

I was so surprised when he found the hearbeat. He warned us there was a good chance we wouldn't hear it, but in less than a minute he found it, loud and strong! I think that is what really made the pregnancy feel real now (well besides the m/s fun). Now I can't wait until my NT scan in 4 weeks when we get to see the babe!

Congratulations on a positive first appt! I completely empathize with you on the agony of m/s; but getting to hear the heartbeat, an early u/s, etc. are the joys that get you through that rough patches in the beginning. Smile
