Houston Babies

So, Alex fell into the fountain at Ninfas on Sunday....

Now I can actually laugh about it, but I was in tears after it happened (not b/c I thought it was funny).  We went out to late lunch to ninfas on nav with ILs.  We sat outside on the back patio, it was empty except for another couple.  Alex will not stay in his high chair, so I was like, what the heck, and let him run around.  He is obsessed with water and was reaching his hands into the fountain.  The waiter came by and told us that the other day another little boy fell in...we all laughed.  "how dumb are those parents?!" I thought.  I was pretty much starting at DS the entire time, mostly b/c I didnt want him to take off towards the door.  All of a sudden I see DS fall in sideways and get completely soaked.  He was okay just a little confused.   took him to the car and I started crying b/c A. I felt like a bad mom and B. I didnt even have extra set of clothes with me and C. I've been crying at everything lately thanks to pg hormones.

Today I think its funny but still upset that he coud have gotten hurt.  So...yeah, I'm now afraid of all fountains and I will never ever leave the house w/out extra set of clothes!  Thankfully I had plenty of wipes :)

  • poor little guy!  I have a friend who is 30+ and fell into the fountain at Pappas Brothers...it can happen at any age!

  • Awww...that stinks!  If it makes you feel better I was at the pediatrician's office last week and Amelia exorcist vomited all over me and herself.  It shot across the room it was that violent.

I was the mom who didn't have extra clothes in her bag either.  Thankfully my mom was able to bring new clothes because it was cold and I couldn't take Amelia out in just her jacket.  Lesson learned.

    HA!

honestly, though, i have seen it happen to friends' kids. i'm glad you can laugh today b/c it has absolutely no bearing on you as a mother. in fact, kids (i think boys especially) learn and develop by having things like this happen- a good lesson in cause and effect and pushing boundaries.

  • Glad he wasn't hurt.  I bet it is funny in retrospect though.

  • When I was a kid I did the same thing at Baybrook Mall, 20 years later, I still haven't lived it down. Just think of the story you will get to tell when he is older!
