I think we're going to have a birthday party!

Up until today I had decided that I couldn't handle having a birthday party for E since I don't really view her birthday as a happy day. But now that I've moved past the hospital anniversary I'm feeling a lot better about things and I truly think I'm going to be able to give her a birthday party. Even better than that? I WANT to give her a party

Yay!!!  I am so happy that you are feeling more at peace with her birth day.  C's party was a lot of fun and it gave me something to look forward to when I've been dealing with the emotions that the one year anniversary of her birth brought.

I just wish we lived closer so you could invite C

You TOTALY need to give her a party.  You will be so glad that you did.  It will be part of your own personal growth and a great fun celebration for her.

Good choice. I think at the end of the day you will be sooo glad you did. I understand you hesitations about celebrating such a traumatic day but when she gets older and looks back at pictures of her first birthday party and all the people that were there to celebrate with her, it wont even occur to her that her actual birthday was a bad day for you. Look how far she has come in the past year...she deserves a party!
