Pregnant after a Loss

Uterus size=pregnancy weeks??

This may sound silly but I read somewhere that the length of your uterus from top to bottom in cm is closely related to how many weeks along you are. Well, I just measured and I am 35 cm but technically only in the start of my 33rd week. Anybody else play around with this?

Re: Uterus size=pregnancy weeks??

  • Are you measuring from your pubic bone?  Yes, that is correct.  Measuring from your pubic bone to the top of your uterus is supposed to be around the number of weeks you are.  I've played around with it!
  • Loading the player...
  • It's the measurement from your pubic bone to the top of your uterus (fundal height).  The number of cm. is supposed to roughly equal the number of weeks pg you are... but my understanding is that it can vary by a cm. or 2 in either direction.  (Kinda like estimating a baby's weight via u/s measurements---it's a rough estimate.)  HTH!
  • I was doing it right then! I know it can vary- I'm gonna ask our Dr. next week. I called DH and joked with him that I could possibly only have 5 weeks left instead of 7 and he freaked out. haha!
