How many diapers/wipes per day?

Hi ladies - I was wondering if you could give me an idea of about how many diapers and wipes you go through in a week.  I have a good amount of diapers that I have been stashing away while they were on sale.  I have beeing getting a few different sizes too, but I am wondering how many I will go through in a week.  Also, about how many wipes.  TIA!

Re: How many diapers/wipes per day?

  • A lot...

At first, DS made about 12 wet or dirty diapers every day. I used to use a ton of wipes, too. Now we're down to about 6-8 per day, plus 1-2 wipes per change.

  • Around 50 diapers a week.  And a wipe for each diaper.  A couple if it's a poopy one.
  • must be 'how many diapers' day hehe.

8-12 per day.  Wipes about the same unless she poops, which sometimes takes 2 or 3 wipes.   So figure weekly, anywhere from 56 - 84 ish.  Yep...lots of diapers!

Be careful not to stack up too much of one kind.  Some babies stay in NB for weeks, some only for a week or two.  My DD is in size 1's depending on the brand (huggies are too big for her still).

  • Lots and lots and lots!  At first, you'll go through more wipes until you get the hang of it.  We went to BRU and just bought the huge boxes of refils, we use Pampers Sensitive wipes and they are great!

DD eats about 7 times a day, so assume you change after each feeding.....that's minimum 7 diapers a day.  That's also minimum 7 wipes a day (1 wipe for pee, about 2-4 for poop, just depends)

DD is a month old and still in newborn size diapers.  (she was 7lbs 4oz at birth)  The Pampers Swaddlers are our favorite but the newborn size is getting too small so we're using Huggies newborn and they fit better...they are much bigger than the Pampers newborn size.  Pampers size 1 are still HUGE on DD!  But we really don't like Huggies....everytime she poops it explodes out of the legs and the back!  But we'll manage for awhile.  I've heard a rumor that Pampers seem to be better for girls, Huggies for boys...of course, to each their own, but just what I've heard.  Good luck!

  • Thanks ladies!  It sounds like I should keep on buying Smile
