difference between these 2 jogging strollers?

BOB revolution & BOB sport utility d'lux?

my mom has offered to buy us a jogging stroller, and i'm trying to decide between these two.  so far the only major difference i can find is the sport utility has a hand brake.  am i missing something in that the revolution DOES have one?  or are there other major features?

do you have one, and can you tell me the pros/cons of either?

  • no tips, but I just love the graphic in your signature! pony! *snort* :-)
I received an A+ in Poise & Deportment.

  • No handbrake for the revolution.... I researched the same thing - from what I can remember one was considered to be an all terrain and the other one was specifically a jogging stroller. I ended up with the Revolution and love it! The front wheel can be fixed or unlocked to move and it rides so nicely - one handed while I walk the dog with the other other hand. The recline is pretty good - I think the Baby Jogger had a better recline but the Bob has a better reputation! Also folding up the revolution is really easy - three simeple steps:)
  • I would only suggest you pick the Revolution. It is their biggest seller. I have one and love it. You can find them on sale right now, too.

  • The main difference is that the front wheel on the SU D'Lux is fixed. The Bob Revolution's front wheel can be changed to be fixed (straight) or swivel. I bought the rev. because of this feature. we use our stroller for more than just jogging so i wanted teh front wheel to turn with me as we went in stores or around the neighborhood. It turns great. The SUD would be harder to turn and you would have to tilt the stroller back to make a major turn because of the front wheel not being able to swivel. The hand break is also a difference between the two. Another difference is the tires. the SUD has slimmer tires meant for road use (like a road bike) and the Rev has thick rubber tires for all terrains (like a mountain bike).

Overall the SUD is meant to be used for only Jogging where as the Rev is a more overall stroller for varying terrains. Good Luck with your decision.

  • I actually just did all this research too.  We were going to buy a new one from REI before the sale ends today and I wanted to be sure that we spent the money on what we really wanted and would work for us.  W found that the main differences are in the front wheel configuration.  Here's what we found.

Revolution(R) is the best all around stroller.  It has a front wheel that can lock for a smoother ride while jogging and unlocked to allow for easier turning in tighter spaces..  The Sport utility (S) only is locked so you lose some versatility.

Also the R's front wheel diameter is 12inches versus the S's 16,  This really is important if you plan on taking your baby rock carolling or rootin'.

Last, the R folds a little bit more compactly versus the S.  This is probably due to the fixed front wheel of the S.

One thing I was disappointed in was that none of the bob's except the stride comes with the cup holder console.  For that amount of money for a stroller I think it should be included.  With all that being said, check Craigslist.  We just bought a brand new revolution (still has tire nubbys on and everything) for 175.  hth
