Hi everyone - I am just 14 weeks pregnant, and I am literally getting bigger by the day. I am happy to get as big as needed, but is this normal? There is no way at this point that I could hide this pregnancy! I feel at this rate these babies are going to run out of room in there.
I had a couple other questions if anyone has time to answer:
- I already have pretty severe hip pain when sleeping. What helped you? I think I may need to get a body pillow.
- A couple days ago I started to have VERY mild dull cramping for a few minutes a day. I am assuming this is normal and I just had an ultrasound and everything was fine. Could this is stretching?
THANK YOU!!!
Re: 14 weeks pregnant w/ twins and huge?
I'm 12 weeks and have a very noticeable bump. Unfortunately I'm already a little heavy to begin with, so I have to be very careful about the food decisions I make going forward. But, I'd say I've easily gained 7-10 pounds thus far... .
As long as you healthy snacks and meals etc.. you should be fine....
i keep telling my friends that by the time May rolls around I am going to be the size of a sailboat
. one of my friends mothers called me out on having twins before i knew it was twins because at 14-15 weeks i had a baby bump that could no longer be hidden!
as for dull cramping/aches and pains, if everything is normal on your ultrasound and your dr says you're doing fine, i'd chalk it up to growing pains. i am only 5'2" and was so small pre-preggo that i can almost feel the growth spurts happening! i've pretty much been completely uncomfortable throughout my entire pregnancy
Congrats to all!!!!!?
?
-body pillow was the only thing that made me feel a little better, the hip pain will never go away until you have the babies. When it got really bad and I needed to rest I took some benadryl.
-The cramping is normal Round ligaments, is due to the streching.?

Yep, you get big but my weight gain has slowed down a bit. I have one woman who really pointed out how big I am compared to her pregnancies and I was like "hello - 2 in here" (and they are same size as singletons). I think I'm measuring 33 weeks now so about 4 weeks ahead.
Hip Pain: this happens. I sleep with my head pillows, 2 small throw pillows on each side and a full sized pillow for my legs. The throw pillows I use to support me front and back to make me more comfortable.
Cramping: could be stretching. Just watch if it doesn't go away with position changes and make sure to keep up your water intake.
at 14w I looked a LOT bigger than I did with my singleton.
now at 20w I don't look THAT much bigger - i think i have leveled out a bit in the past week or so... though, i don't expect that to last and know i'll be ginormous again soon
early on everyone said "OMG, you are so big for being that far along" and now people are saying "OMG- you look GREAT for having twins- not that big at all!"... i've got a while to go, though! haha.
yes- you need a body pillow - the snoogle is great but takes up the whole bed (and DS likes to crawl in bed with us for an hour in the mornign so i'm not using it for this pg). lots of pillows all over = good. For me the hip pain was worse with the first pg - i guess they are spread out already this time and don't hurt as much (yet).... the only thing that helped was tylenol and moving around- which you'll do more of as you can't go all night without peeing every hour
Unlike Goldie, my growth hasn't slowed (I wish!). I am officially "a house". But yes, even early on I was noticably pregnant; while with my DD I didn't really look officially pregnant till 6 months or so. I think you should just be prepared to get really big
The body pillow is good I find if I can kind of sleep on the front of my legs with the body pillow between your belly and the bed it makes it a little less painful. I don't know, it's hard to change your sleep habits but you'll probably find the spot that helps the most. Also if it's sciatic then there are some good stretches you could do during the day to help alleviate the pain.
