...do you happen to have pics of how it's set up?
We're getting a fat tax refund and saving most of it, but are getting a new TV and entertainment center for our living room. I can't find an entertainment center or TV stand I like, though. Ideally, I want one with doors that close around the TV when it's not in use, but that seems to be hard to find.
With just a TV stand, it always looks like a death trap to me (although I assume you have to anchor it somehow either way so DC's can't knock the TV down, right?).
I guess I'm looking for pics and/or suggestions?

The one in our living room, where DD plays is not all that big, maybe 36 inches. It sits on top of a cabinet that goes in the corner where we keep some of DD's toys. DD wasn't tall enough to reach it until she was over 2 and has never tried to touch it. It is not that easy to knock over.
We have a 52 inch in our media/hobby room and it is on a regular stand with open shelves, like they have at best buy. I can't imagine having a cabinet big enough to close the doors around it. That would be huge. DD hasn't ever made a move toward it, but she is not in that room unsupervised, except when I shower and then she is usually watching Super Why and doesn't move from her perch.

This was taken on my husbands camera phone when we first did it, before kids. There is clutter on top of the hutch, books on the bottom right and tons of toys on the floor to the right. His stereo equipment is on the bottom left and we use the drawers for movies, etc. All of the speakers are for surround sound.

Hmmm. Right now (and I literally mean right this second, so please excuse the mess!) ours looks like this:
So we have that big niche to fill, which is why I think an entertainment center might be better than just a stand or a wall mount. I'd like the Tivo, Playstation, etc. to be hidden from view and not stacked on an open shelf, too...

Ours is wall mounted. This picture is actually from when we were in the process of buying our house (the tv came with it - big selling point for DH!), so it's our seller's entertainment center & furniture. 3+ years later, I'm still looking for the perfect media center to put beneath it. I want one with glass doors to put all the components behind (away from little hands), which is really hard to find!
