We had Cam's 2 month appt today and her ped suggested that I try cutting dairy from my diet. She's been super fussy and have mucousy diapers. Do either of you have any suggestions or good websites with some ideas for food?
I'm pretty new to it, but it's going alright and it's made a huge improvement in Andersen. I really miss cereal and pizza, but other than that, I've been okay with cutting it.
I went to Whole Foods yesterday and was able to find several dairy-free options that my regular grocery store doesn't stock. I've really missed baking -- I used to do it like once a week -- and I found some chocolate chips that are milk-free and have a recipe that uses cooking oil instead of butter/margarine.
Hope that helps. Good luck. It's a bit hard the first few days, but once you get a feel for the stuff you CAN eat, it's not so bad. It was just hard for me to find different "go-to" foods since nearly everything I ate before had dairy in some form in it.
Thanks for the suggestions! I'm really going to miss cereal and pizza too. I'm not a big fan of sweets, so the baking part isn't a big deal to me. I plan on going to Whole Foods or someplace like that just to see some other options.
Have you tried any other type of milk (soy, almond, etc) for cereal?

No. I may eventually try rice or soy milk, but for now I don't miss it enough to gag down a milk substitute. Also, I'm not sure yet if I have to cut out soy, too, so I don't want to get used to soy milk only to have to give it up as well.
Trader Joes has a lot of great options too. I buy soy milk by the case at Costco, since my 2 yo is dairy free also. It is very vanilla- not too bad. And I use it in all recipes that call for milk.
Look for the Tofutti brand stuff (sour cream, cream cheese, ice cream sandwiches) it is really good.
I cook more now with oil/Crisco/Pam wherever I used to use butter. I can't believe it's not butter contains buttermilk (learned that one the hard way)
I miss cheese the most. I haven't found a substitute worth eating.
Good luck! I hope your little one feels better soon.

I found this blog: https://mspimama.blogspot.com/
And someone on here suggested this site, but I haven't had much time to peruse it (it looks great, though): https://www.godairyfree.org/Table/Recipes/Dairy-Free-Desserts/Page-2-50.html
