Why do you suppose SIL did this?

We got a thank you card from SIL's family yesterday.  It was just a generic computer printed note with two hand written notes from the kids.  In the handwritten notes that SIL wrote from the kids she only thanked DH.  There was no mention of me what so ever.  Just "Thanks Uncle B!"  It only peeves me because DH didn't do a thing for her kids.  I'm the one who did their gifts.  We just put money in their education accounts but I'm the one that printed off cute color copies explaining their gifts and went out and hunted high and low for really cute cards to put them in.  Not a lot of work really but why does he get all the thanks!?!?!  And she knows that I did it because she called me yesterday asking me about transferring the accounts to her and her DH as custodians.  Just thought it was strange.

Not cool at all!!  Are you a SAHM? Maybe she thinks if your DH is "bringing home the bacon" that he is the one to thank since it was a monetary gift. Still NOT right on her part but some people are just stupid.

I'm not a SAHM so that cuts that out.  I don't know where her thoughts were on this.  We get along pretty well considering she lives so far away so I don't think it was to be completely rude towards me.  Or at least I hope not!

That is weird.  But I suppose if you don't think she was intentionally trying to hurt your feelings, then you shouldn't take it personally.  Now if it happens again, I would definately say something.
