Going through the Car wash with Baby BAD idea

I am not sure what I was thinking this morning.

I had salt crusted snow/ice all over my car and couldnt see out the back window- I meant to do it when she WASNT in the car.

But I pulled in and its this line, by the time I had already paid and realized you know this isnt my brightest Idea to do it while she was IN the car

It was too late, couldnt get out of the line and the cars behind me were 15 deep.

Lol she was soo scared, I think I might of traumatized her. I held her hand and sang songs but she was really scared

I guess I win bad parent for the day GRR

Re: Going through the Car wash with Baby BAD idea

  • I wouldn't say bad parent for that...how could you know how she would react? Oliver loves the carwash, so it's not like it's something all babies freak out about.

  • Ive been through 2x with Deacon and the 1st time he acted like he didn't even care...The 2nd time he got a little freaked and I just held his hand and he was okay and started smiling at it.  I remember LOVING the car wash when I was little!
  • You're not a bad parent.  I could see some babies loving it and don't know for sure how DS would react.  Try again in another 6 months and see what happens then.
  • We took DD through it once and she wasn't scared at all, so how would you have known she would have reacted like that. Not a bad mommy at all!

  • LOL.  I can imagine being traumatized by that as an infant.  I always found it exciting as a small child, but exciting in the say that kids find scary stuff exciting!  I actually think it would be pretty funny (yes, sometimes I laugh at my daughter's misfortune...they call it schadenfreude...) but you're not a bad parent, baby's just scared of carwashes! :D
  • awww poor baby! Not a bad parent thing though! You didn't know she would be scared.

DD loves going through the car wash LOL. We've been a few times and every time she just watches the water and everything and then laughs when it gets super loud.
