we bought the serta from BRU. It feels nice to me.... but I really dont know what to be looking for when it comes to crib mattresses. Its firm, but still feels comfy.
We got the Sealy Comfort Sleep mattress on our pediatricians rec. His boys slept on them exclusively, until moving to their big boy beds. He likes them because they have a higher spring count (firm, which is important for the babe) and they are middle of the road priced. You can get them at Target for about $75. Good Luck!
here's my vote: get whichever one is bigger. the first crib mattress we got has the standard sized serta (which our fit the measurements on a sticker on our crib) and when we put it into our crib we had an inch and a half gap between the crib and the front of the mattress! boooo! so we had to look for another one.
My SIL just went matress shopping. They chose a Simmons Beauty Rest because they have individual springs vs. interlocking springs. Ex. I weigh 115 pre-pg and when I move around, my DH feels it on his side of the mattress. My SIL weighs 220 and when she rolls and moves and jumps, her DH doesn't feel a thing on his side of the bed - the beauty of individual springs.

{forever remembered and missed my sweet babe}
