"in danger of overstimulating"

Hi,

I am on day 5 of stims. I thought my u/s the morning went okay. I guess not, since the nurse called 3 hours later to say they were calling in a Rx of HcG dilution and now I have to come in tomorrow for another follie check.

I thought I saw the radiology tech measure about 6 follicles per ovary. Is this too much for day 5? A couple were kind of large ( I don't know the measurements). 

I guess I just don't understand what about the ultrasound indicates I may overstimulate. 

I am so scared of getting canceled.   Any input would be appreciated. TIA.

Are you doing IUI or IVF? That makes a huge difference since with IUI they only want a few (no more than 3) mature follicles but with IVF they want quite a bit more.

The u/s might have been fine but if they also took blood, which they should have, then it's possible the b/w came back with something that concerned them.

I would say that 6 follies each probably isn't too much for day 5. You're just looking for a few of them to pull away from the pack, so if a couple of them were larger, that's good! They may be worried about overstimulation based on your bloodwork, though. If your e2 level is too high, that could indicate that too many of the follicles are maturing. Good luck!

This is for IVF, sorry. The reason I am so confused, they called me about the u/s, the bloodwork isn't back yet! I need to call back at 3, when they make the final recommendations.

Yeah, nevermind! II just found out,  I have 14 follicles on each ovary. It is now very clear why they were alarmed at my u/s.

Oh boy! I hope they can let you coast for a few days so the cycle isn't cancelled. Good luck!

I had a total of 30 follies at the beginning of my stimming and ended up being okay and not getting OHSS. ?My RE did worry about it, but I was just really careful in doing exactly what they told me and my ER went great yesterday with 23 eggs retrieved. ?Good luck to you!?
