We are thinking of going to Myrtle beach in June. We have a time share out there. The time that we can go is very limited. We want to use some cancelled airline tickets from last year too, so that limits us as well.
The departure flight is at 7am and the airport is an hour away. I would have to get Preston up at 4:30, in order to leave the house by 5, to make it to the airport an hour early (his normal wake up time is 8:30am).
Would you do this?
Note: he is not a groggy waker upper either. He would be fully awake, no matter what time I got him up. So staying alseep on our way to the airport will probably not be happening.
Re: Would you wake your toddler at 4:30am for an airline flight?
Liam is 5!
It is the best deal and the best flight (one way), where as the other's have a stop. Preston doesn't have a hard time getting back on schedule either. I don't know why I worry about it so much.
Totally. We had to wake our little girl up at 3(ish) am to leave for hawaii. It ended up being a 20 hour travel day for her and she was a CHAMP! Not one single tear the whole day. I was so proud of her!
We like routine but aren't strict to a schedule. We've always been super flexible with both our girls.
Yep!
He wouldn't hesitate to wake YOU up at 4:30am, would he?
In all seriousness...I think he'll be fine. Have fun!
Just did this last month for our trip to Aruba and DD was fine! She was up and not grumpy! If it's the best deal, go for it!!
Have fun!
I had two twice last summer. It worked out fine. She didn't even fall asleep in the car on the 1 hour ride to the airport.
I had her sleep in yoga pants and a Tshirt so I didn't have to change her clothes when we left.
Yes. We've had the girls up at 5 am for flights. They actually done amazingly well getting up early. Even on our last trip where Evelyn didn't sleep more than than 3 hours after spending the evening in the ER.
yes. i'd put him in warm pj's and wold not bother changing him until we get to the airport or even until we board the plane. I'd wake him 1 minute before we have to leave the house, just grab him and go.
We've done that before.
