She snickered at a dumb joke...how does it make her racist?

Yes it is a racist, insensitive and offensive email but I just don't see where the verbal beating is justified.  Has she made racial comments before?  There were several posts about emails people got about the Obama Hallmark Christmas Tree Ornament.  I certainly do not recall any lashing like this.  Somebody please clean up the blood - I'm drowning.

Reposting it on a message board is a lot worse than snickering at it. ?And seriously, people died and lost everything in Katrina, how is that remotely funny?! ?Just because some of those people were of a different race than her? ?Disgusting.

I love when people stand up for people who make racist commenst and jokes like they are the one's needing protection. I don't know what ornament you are talking about but I personally have a zero tolerance policy for racism.

Personally, I think if the email was about "people" and not "black people" it could have been perceived a LOT different.  My whole problem was that it singled out black people.  The idea of the "joke" got lost with me there.  I do see the irony about people getting out of NO, and into DC...etc...but the "black people" was unnecessary.  There were white people ignorant enough in the New Orleans fiasco, and there were white people at the inauguration.

It is what it is, I can't even fathom how you could put another spin on it. I am an each to his/her own type of gal, but this really bothered me. It is so plainly racist and she saw fit to repost it... how is that not racist?!?

I'd be pretty willing to bet that she (obviously) did not word very well the desire for a discussion of some dumb ass email she got.  She posts this so that means she is a racist.  Seriously?  Is that what you all think?  Sorry, but while it is insensitive and in very poor taste, I think a lot of people have their noses stuck up a little too high over it and I really cannot imagine that not one person here has not snickered over something equally stupid.

So not finding humor in racist jokes makes someone stuck up?  I found absolutely no humor in that lame attempt at humor at all. If being a snob about racist jokes is wrong I don't want to be right.

No, not finding humor in an offensive joke does nt mean you are a snob as such it is that just because she posted it and even laughed at it does not make her a racist, classless, tasteless d*ck like everyone is making her out to be.

I disagree..it was totally racist and classless.
She chose to post a tasteless joke on the board and got slammed for it. No one made her post it.
